Hemp Flower refers to the flower on the female hemp plant. When the hemp flower reaches full bloom, the bud (as the flower is often called) secretes certain cannabinoids and resin to attract pollen from the males and produce seeds. When it comes to CBD production, seedless flower (sensimilla) is the best option.
Not all Hemp flowers contain the same levels of CBD. The exact percentage depends on the strain of each plant. High CBD hemp flower is derived from specially bred plants that have been propagated to produce bigger buds and carry on a high CBD - low THC profile for legal compliance reasons.
Cannabis began being grown in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Pakistan. Known then as 'Landraces' , cannabis was cultivated for it's whole plant benefits and medicinal properties. It was found that climates between 30 to 50 degrees latitude were growing shorter, fatter, resin heavy plants that had strong cerebral effects, now known as Cannabis Indica. More equatorial regions (primarily Southwest Asia), between 0 to 30 degrees latitude were growing taller, longer, more mentally uplifting plants. Now referred to as Cannabis Sativa.
